NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS)

July 1 - The Nebraska Cornhuskers follow up a 10-win season that included a Big XII North title and a 33-0 thrashing of Arizona in the Holiday Bowl with the preseason #1 ranking. The Huskers enter the third year of the Bo Pelini era with 15 returning starters, 80% of their letter winners, and a favorable schedule that includes Texas at home and misses Oklahoma.
The #2 spot belongs to the Horned Frogs of TCU. Gary Patterson's group was an outstanding 12-1 last season with their only loss coming 17-10 in the Fiesta Bowl. The Frogs return 16 starters and 79% of their letter winners.
#3 Oregon, in year two of Chip Kelly's guidance, are expected to repeat as Pac-10 champions. #4 Florida, despite returning only 11 starters and just 63% of their letter winners, is projected repeat as SEC East champions and win the conference.
In addition to #1 Nebraska, the Big XII also boasts powerhouses Texas (#5) and Oklahoma (#6). Texas is coming off a Big XII title and an appearance in the national championship game. The Sooners were a disappointing 8-5 last year, but four of those losses were by a TD or less.
#7 Ohio State, #8 Virginia Tech, #9 Alabama, and #10 Boise State round out the top ten.
